How to play Crate Push

  1. Walk into a crate to push it one square in the direction you are moving.
  2. Push every crate so it sits on a target square, marked with an amber outline.
  3. A crate will not move if the square beyond it is a wall or another crate, so check what is behind it first.
  4. You can push a crate off a target again. Sometimes that is the only way to get past it.
  5. Finish the level to unlock the next one. Your solved count is saved in your browser.

About Crate Push

Crate Push is a logic puzzle about space. You stand on a grid beside a set of crates, and the only thing you can do is walk into a crate to shove it one square. Every crate has to end up on a target square, and a crate that is pushed into a wall or into another crate does not move at all.

That single rule is where the difficulty comes from. A push you cannot undo has consequences, so the puzzle is really about working out the order of moves before you make the first one. There is no timer, no score penalty and no move limit — just five levels that grow from one crate to a crowded room, each with a par count to compare against. Your solved count is kept in your browser.

What’s included

  • Five hand-built levels with a par move count each
  • Tap an adjacent square to move, so it works on touch screens
  • Solved count saved per browser
  • Instant restart on every level

Crate Push FAQ

How do I solve a Crate Push level?
Work out where each crate has to end up, then place the crate that is hardest to reach backwards first. If a crate needs to turn a corner, push it along the long axis first and only then move it across.
Is there an undo in Crate Push?
The Restart button resets the current level. There is no single-step undo, which is deliberate: puzzles like this are meant to be solved by planning rather than by trial and error.
How many levels does Crate Push have?
Five levels, from a single crate to a room with six. Your solved count is saved in your browser, and each level has a par move count to compare against.
