How to play Block Drop

  1. 1Pieces fall from the top of the playfield. Use Left and Right to slide them and Up or X to rotate.
  2. 2Complete a full horizontal row to clear it. The rows above shift down, and the score increases.
  3. 3Clearing multiple rows in one placement is worth significantly more than clearing them one at a time.
  4. 4Press C to hold the current piece. You get one hold at a time, so use it to save a piece you cannot place yet.
  5. 5The stack reaches the top of the playfield and the run ends. Keep the middle flat and clear your rows early to survive.

About Block Drop

Block Drop is a falling-block puzzle where pieces drop from the top and you slide and rotate them into place to complete lines. Fill an entire row and it clears, pushing everything above it down and freeing up space. Clear several lines at once for bigger scores.

The rotation system uses a wall-kick that lets pieces nudge around a wall instead of jamming against it, which makes tight placements possible and turns near-misses into real recoveries. A hold slot lets you park a piece you cannot use yet, which is the difference between surviving for a long time and topping out in ninety seconds. The goal is as high a score as you can get, and the game never ends unless you choose to stop.

What’s included

  • 7-piece rotation with wall kicks
  • Hold slot and next-piece preview
  • Soft drop, hard drop and ghost piece
  • Local score and line-count high scores

Block Drop FAQ

What is the difference between Block Drop and Tetris?
Block Drop is an original game built for PlayForge. It uses the classic falling-block rule set but has its own art, wall-kick rotation, hold system and scoring.
What is a wall kick in Block Drop?
It is what lets a piece rotate even when it is flush against a wall or floor. Without it, most pieces become unplaceable in tight spots and games end far too early.
How do I score more points in Block Drop?
Clear multiple rows at once and use soft drop to speed up the fall of pieces you have already decided on. Avoid pure panic drops, which usually bury a clean surface.
